If you are a small business and you’ve successfully survived five years or more, then congratulations! It’s no easy feat to be in the game for that long. It’s now time to think of the next five years and ensure you remain current. What does this mean? It means it’s time to start seriously thinking about a brand revamp. In this post, we will explore the things you need to think about for your online persona before you recreate your whole brand.
Are there other changes you want to make?
A brand revamp is more than just changing the colours and look of your website or logo. It is also about reevaluating your whole business. Are you changing your focus? Are you expanding your market? Are there products or services that you want to add to your business? Have you changed your goals entirely or just tweaking? These things need to be considered before you start the revamp so that you can incorporate these to the changes. Consult your business adviser about this before starting the whole process.
Reassess your social media channels
Revamping your brand is one that needs to be included in your social media feeds. Social media is all about storytelling and your small business definitely has a story to tell. Share it with your followers. Tell them why you are doing the revamp. Assure them that although your look will change, your values and commitment to your customers are still the same. If you have a trusted group of customers, it is worth getting their feedback about the revamp — a focus group of sorts. Reward them by offering discounts for the relaunch. Celebrate the milestone with your customers. Also, look at the social media platforms you use. Are you using all of them or is it time to let go of the ones that you are not using?
Use digital marketing to spread the word
Use the right amount of digital marketing during the entire process. But the message has to be more than just your new look and feel. Your customers will want to know why you decided to do a revamp, so tell them. You can use video or a well laid out graphics to create a storyline that can run for weeks. The story behind the whole revamp will resonate with your customers especially if it’s authentic. You don’t have to fork out a huge budget (especially since you need that for the revamp). Thankfully, digital marketing doesn’t have to be that expensive.
